The Meaning Behind “ELK”
“ELK” means moose.
In the Nordic countries, the moose is sometimes known as the “king of the forest,” a symbol of the vast wilderness it calls home.
Deep forests shaped by the footsteps of elk, quiet moments surrounded by snow, and the aurora stretching across the sky above. The name ELK Aurora Lodge reflects our hope to create a retreat where guests can feel at home while becoming part of the nature of the Arctic.

A Small Lodge Offering a Taste of Nordic Life
With just nine rooms, ELK Aurora Lodge offers a more personal and relaxed stay. Japanese-speaking staff are available to support guests, and daily breakfast and dinner are also provided with warm hospitality.
Our five Forest Suites feature spacious layouts with separate bedrooms and living areas. Each suite is equipped with a private kitchen, dining space, private sauna, and wood-burning fireplace, allowing you to enjoy the comfort and freedom of a Nordic holiday home.
Warm yourself in the sauna, watch the fire flicker in the wood-burning fireplace, and wait for the Northern Lights to appear.

Can You Accommodate Food Allergies?
We are unable to accommodate food allergies, including ingredient substitutions or the removal of specific ingredients.
All meals are prepared in the same kitchen using shared cooking utensils and equipment, so we cannot completely prevent the possibility of trace allergen cross-contamination.
For the safety of our guests, we kindly ask for your understanding.
Are Pets Allowed? What Should Guests with Animal Allergies Know?
To ensure a comfortable and hygienic environment for all guests, pets are strictly not permitted anywhere on the property, including the Main Building, guest rooms, and dining areas.
※Although we maintain the highest standards of cleanliness, dogs have been present inside the buildings in the past. Therefore, ELK Aurora Lodge is not certified as an allergy-free facility.
Guests with severe animal allergies are kindly asked to take this into consideration before making a reservation.
